With that out of the way, here's some of my story.
I grew up in the smallest county in the whole country, Arlington VA. I attended a Christian school for Kindergarten and first grade. My Mom selected that school because my birthday falls in January, and the public schools wouldn't take me until the next year. She figured better early than late. Good idea. Thanks Mom! after that I went to a private non-religious school until 4yth grade when I went to the local elementary school in my neighborhood. I must've turned into a hellion, cause they sent me back to private school for 5th and 6th grades. I think I complained at the time, but didn't cause anybody any grief about the decision. During the summers I went to day camp at the same private school so it was a pretty small, familiar, and close, environment for me. Looking back, that private schooling early on was one of the best things to ever happen to me.
For 7th grade I was in the public school system. Not bad, but not as good a school and I didn't put forth much effort, because frankly it wasn't required or much rewarded. This would become a theme for me. That was Gunston junior high and the walk from my house was a bitch over a BIG hill. I learned a thousand different ways to make that walk and none of them worked well.
Next was Wakefield High School in south Arlington. I liked it and had a good time, but my Junior year we moved to Alexandria, the next town/county over, and I went to T.C. Williams high...
