BLAB
In my normal ass-backwards fashion, newest entries are at the bottom. So Scroll Down!
| I started this on October 4th,
2003 I'm not sure what a BLOG is, and I don't think this qualifies. So I named it my BLAB. This is my place to say what I want. That has got to be one of the best things about having your own web page. :) |
| Entry: 10-04-03 Well, Robert Palmer died last week. I really liked this guy. He had class. I'm not saying that just because he was a natty dresser. If you've read any of his interviews, he had a good head on his shoulders, and was genuinely a nice person. I know I could've enjoyed slinging some margaritas on the beach, and bullshitting with him. I respect that he really made his own way, and plotted the course of his life carefully, in a business that frequently throws you curve balls. Of course, most of my fondness for Robert Palmer stems from my enjoyment of his music. My favorite album is "Secrets". Recorded in the Bahamas studio that he called home, it has a smooth sound and lyrical messages I can agree with. Anyway, Bon Voyage Robert! Also, John Ritter went on last week. I didn't like Ritter for a long time. I especially thought 3's company was a crappy show, and that shaped my opinion of him for a long time. But after seeing his performances in "Skin Deep" (that glow in the dark condom movie) and Slingblade, I had new respect for him. His ABC sitcom was also excellent. So, Bon Voyage, John! |
| Just a thought: Why aren't
there seat belts on school buses? With all the talk from this generation's
ultra safety conscious parents, this just seems very incongruous. UPDATE: Turns out they HAVE seat belts on school buses in NY state. Go figure. |
| Entry: 10-08-03 Actually, I think AHNOULD will do a good job. Hurray to California for getting rid of the old Govvie. It's amazing the way the internet and talk shows propelled this recall. I didn't know Gallagher was running. Arnold should hire him as an advisor. He has some insightful ideas. :) |
Entry: 12-06-03 Found out today that Julian Hirsch of various audio magazines fame died in November. Drag. Hirsch-Houck labs did many reports on audio gear back in the day. I know that many eagerly awaited their reports, as I did. The dreadful state of good audio components in this day is a shame! Bon Voyage, Julian! |
| Entry: 6-27-04 Well last weekend my friend Rob got married! Congrats! Also a few weeks ago, Ronald Reagan died. We lost a great American in him. Godspeed Ronnie! Went to see Styx and Peter Frampton last night. DUDE. Frampton was awesome! I couldn't believe he was that good! Styx was pretty good. The sound kinda capped out during Styx like the didn't have enough watts or were using a limiter that just didn't sound good. But I still had a GREAT TIME. Sounds kinda lame going to see bands we listened to, ugh 25 years ago, but it was nice to know all the words to the songs. |
