Ford SVT E-mail List Information
The List's Charter
FORD-SVT is a closed discussion (only list members may send to the list) and subscription list intended to promote discussion of Ford Motor Company's Special Vehicle Team vehicles including Lightnings and Cobra Mustangs and SVT parts, directions, philosophy, etc. Commercial use of this list, other than personal `classified ads' for cars, parts, etc is prohibited. This list is not formally sanctioned or supported by Ford Motor Company, the Special Vehicles Team or anyone else.

What to expect
The Ford-SVT list has a moderate traffic volume. You can usually expect to see five to ten messages posted per weekday. There are some inactive times but the list has grown to the point where it is generally active every day.

Digests
The Ford-SVT list does have digest capabilities. After you join the list, you may enable digesting for your list traffic. The Ford-SVT list sends one digest per day at approximately 7pm Mountain time. This message contains the previous day's messages. To enable digesting on your subscription, send e-mail to listproc@lists.Colorado.EDU with the subject line blank and the message body containing: set ford-svt mail digest

Archives
The Ford-SVT list is archived under a Unix style mail folder. This folder is accessible via anonymous ftp://crunch.colorado.edu/ford-svt/ford-svt.archive This archive contains all messages sent to the Ford-SVT list during the current calendar year. Previous years are archived in gzip format as the same name with the postfix -YY.gz, ie ford-svt-archive-94.gz
The Ford-SVT list is also now archived via HyperMail to web archives. These archives are also separated into smaller archives by date:

What not to do with the list
Do not `test' the Ford-SVT list. If you think the list isn't working, you are having delivery problems, etc, contact the list owner, Mike.Carter@Coloardo.EDU, regarding your questions. The list processor that runs the Ford-SVT list has built in checks to prevent test messages from being distributed to the list but these checks are not infallible.
The Ford-SVT list runs on a resource provided by the University of Colorado, Boulder. The policies of the University prohibit any individual from using University resources for profit making purposes. Any `spamming' of the Ford-SVT list may result in two things. The University may use its legal resources in an attempt to prosecute the individual(s) responsible and the list may be removed from University resources. Please use the list responsibly as the University of Colorado is providing valuable resources to a worthwhile network activity. Note for the net-terminology-impaired: spamming is inappropriate postings to e-mail lists or news groups. In particular, inappropriate messages of a commerical nature. `The Green Card Lottery' and `Make Money Fast' are two examples of infamous Internet `spams'.
